Claude video skill questions
Can Claude make videos?
Not by itself. With the Claude Motion skills installed, Claude Code or Codex writes the scenes as code and renders them to an MP4 locally with HyperFrames.
Does it generate realistic footage or avatars?
No. It makes motion graphics: kinetic type, charts, diagrams and generated scene images, timed to a voiceover. Use a generative video tool for camera footage or presenters.
Do I need Remotion or After Effects?
No. The skills bring their own runtime. Run the doctor command after installing and it lists anything missing on your machine.
What does it cost?
Scenes are written by your own agent, so visuals use no credits. Voiceover, music and image generation use credits from your Claude Motion plan.
