A 60-second explainer holds about 150 spoken words. Spend them in this order.

  1. 01 · ~10%

    Hook

One line that names the outcome the viewer wants. No logo intro.

  2. 02 · ~20%

    Problem

The pain as the viewer would describe it, ideally with one number.

  3. 03 · ~20%

    Solution

What your product or idea is, in a single sentence.

  4. 04 · ~30%

    How it works

Two or three steps or features, one scene each, one idea per scene.

  5. 05 · ~10%

    Proof

    A result, a customer quote or a before/after.

  6. 06 · ~10%

    Call to action

One next step, said out loud and shown on the end card.

FAQ

Questions about explainer video scripts

How long should an explainer video script be?

At a normal speaking pace of about 150 words per minute, a 60-second explainer holds around 150 words and a 90-second one around 225. Most product explainers work best between 60 and 90 seconds.

What is the best structure for an explainer video?

Hook, problem, solution, how it works, proof and a call to action. For tutorials use a step-by-step structure, and for lessons start with a question and end with a recap.

Is this explainer video script template free?

Yes. It runs entirely in your browser, needs no account and sends nothing to a server. Copy the script and use it anywhere.

How do I turn the script into an animated video?

Give the script to the Claude Motion skill in Claude Code or Codex. It builds one animated scene per section on a HyperFrames timeline, can add AI voiceover from the voiceover lines, and renders to MP4.
